It’s Friday Freebie time! Here is a perfect fall project to create something soft and warm for your sweet pet. You’ll have a chance to make something really nice with just a couple of tools and your pet will have its own, special custom-made place.
For detailed steps, see below. This neat find was originally found via the Handi Mania post. You will need little sewing skills. But don’t be a fraidy cat, it shouldn’t scare you off though because it involves just a basic stitch that will be hidden underneath the main part of the bed. This project looks so cute, that we are going to give it a try and see if we can make one for our own in-house dachshunds, Mina & Max.
Have great fun and make your pet the happiest one.

TOOLS:
• Scissors
• Thread and some yarn
• Thick sewing needle
• Meter
• Pins (optional chalk and ruler)
• Used hoodie
• Acrylic blanket or pieces of cloth
• Cushion filling or a pillow
• A flap ( for closing the sleeves)
STEPS:
1. Prepare all tools and supplies on the floor or table.
Turn your sweatshirt inside out. Gather the edges of the collar and sew them with a thread or use a sewing machine if you want it faster. Leave a small piece open.
Stretch the hoodie with pins and mark a straight line from one armpit to the other. If you prefer, use a ruler and chalk to mark on the fabric. Sew, joining the front and back of the grid, following the path. Remove the pins.

4. Put the sleeves along the body of the sweatshirt.
Now pin to the sides (as shown in the picture). Leave the cuffs without sewing them.

5. Insert acrylic blanket, foam, or even chopped leftover fabrics through the cuffs to form the edges of the bed.

6. Fill the belly of the blouse with cushion stuffing or a pillow.

7. Join the cuffs sewing them together. You can also use the sewing machine if you like.

8. Take one piece of other fabric and put it around the cuffs.
This is so that it will cover the sewed part. Sew it with a regular stitch and turn it inwards.

That is awesome! So, pleased to see that you can put this pattern to some great use. Well done! 🙂
